The other events which are coming up; amongst them one is the Martyrdom of Imam Hassan Askari (a.s). These days are days of Allah and are the days of pledges and covenants. We should not just spend these days in cultural rituals. All days related to events of Imams are days of revival. Even if we are negligent in other days but at least in these days we should not be negligent and revival of Imamat only delivers the rights of these days.
Then 9th Rabi ul Awwal is the beginning the day of Imamat of Imam Mahdi (a.t.f.s). This day also many spend in mischievous acts; such kind of acts which are illegitimate, prohibited and harmful. Those mischievous acts in which there is sacrilege of sacred personalities of Muslims. Those ugly acts in which there is sectarianism and develops hatred are definitely prohibited and irrespective of whether young or old do it. For prohibited acts it does not matter who does it. This day is so great and some people spend this day on such lowly things. It is the day of your living Imam and at least make it a day of covenant (Ahad) of your Imam. Recite Dua e Ahad; renew your pledge with your Imam; and deliver it. It is the day of being present in front of your Imam of Age (a.t.fs). But we spend this day on lowly rituals. It becomes a disgrace for Shias when you do such acts on this day. At times they quote references that so and so people were doing it. They were also doing wrong. A mistake is a mistake whoever commits; it does not justifies if some elder has done it. At times these acts are even done at responsible places where it should not have been done in such places. It is necessary to discourage these mischievous acts on the day of 9th Rabi ul Awwal. If there are celebrations also then that should be for Imam E Zamana (a.t.f.s). If you want to celebrate as Eid then this day is the Eid of Imamat.
